BACKGROUND
An 83-year-old male was admitted to a nursing facility with a stage 3 ishial pressure wound. It appeared that the primary cause was related to some lateral instability due to right side weakness and contracture causing pressure while seated in a wheelchair. Neil Medical Group worked quickly with the Skilled Nursing Facility to find positioning and seating products to address and relieve the postural issues within 24 hours. In addition, therapeutic surfaces for the bed and wheelchair were also recommended to help speed his recovery. Our highly trained sales professional also assisted the facility to quickly evaluate several choices for wound care products specific to the type of wound.
OUTCOME
